Senior Callie Schlottman
University of Denver
Callie is a Senior at Denver University majoring in Biology. She has stayed consistent throughout her college career by competing on the Balance Beam a handful of times her first 2 years, currently holding a career high of a 9.850.
Callie was a part of Denver’s huge upset win over a nationally top-ranked team at the the Big 12 Conference Championships! Not only is Callie skilled athletically, but academically as well. She is a part of the 2021 First Team Academic All-Big 12 Team and is a WCGA Scholastic All-American. Click below for schedules, scores, awards and more!

Started 2023 season with a 9.775 on beam and 8.950 on floor at the Best of Minnesota meet • Scored a 9.800 on beam and 9.850 on floor at the Wasatch Classic • Scored a 9.225 on beam and 7.900 on floor against Penn State • Scored 9.650 on beam at Iowa. Also competed exhibition on floor • Scored 9.775 on beam against Illinois • Scored 9.850 on beam against Michigan • Earned a score of 9.850 on beam at Maryland • Earned a season-high 9.875 on beam at Big Five meet, also competed exhibition on floor • Scored 9.125 on beam against Boise State, also competed exhibition on floor • Posted a score of 9.825 on beam at Arkansas, also competed exhibition on floor • Earned a season-high 9.900 on beam at Big Ten Championships • Finished her season with a 9.825 on beam at the Denver Regional • Academic All-Big Ten • Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.
Freshman Sophia Nguyen
In 2022, Minnesota-native Nguyen finished second in the all-around, vault and beam – as well as third on floor – at Level 10 Regionals • she also finished fifth in the all-around, fourth on beam, and sixth on vault and bars at the 2022 Level 10 Minnesota State championships • Nguyen also qualified for Nationals in 2022 • she comes from the same club as current Gophers Emily Koch and Megan Steensland • Nguyen was a 2021 Junior Olympic National Qualifier after finishing seventh in the all-around and fourth on vault at the 2021 Level 10 Regionals • at the 2021 Level 10 Minnesota State championships, Nguyen finished fourth in the all-around and fifth on beam • placed 3rd at Regionals in 2019 and qualified for Nationals.
